Chronic Absenteeism Summit

Event Description

Note: SCECHs are pending for this event.

MIBLSI is honored to welcome Jennifer Freeman, Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Connecticut and Jessica Sprick from Safe and Civil Schools for this one-day session.

During this day, we will define the scope of the issue of chronic absenteeism in the nation and in Michigan, review the soon to be released technical brief on addressing chronic absenteeism from the National PBIS Center, and identify specific actions that districts, schools and communities can take to not only address the issue of chronic absenteeism but also prevent the issue. This session is designed for a team from the same District or Intermediate School District to attend together and develop a common action plan as a result of participating in this professional learning session.
